Over Your Ashes

That night at 12, when the world snoozed,
When the stars hid behind the silvery clouds,
Through the backdoor, Up the stairs, You,
Sat right beside me. You, my one beautiful lie.
A year down, two continents separated by water bodies,
Few years, you wrinkled, silver and cranky,
A Decade, I, an old willow tree over your ashes.
Somewhere between being a lie and an ugly truth,
Somewhere between that night and this day,
Somewhere between that first smile and the last kiss,
Somewhere in between us, I lost you.
Somewhere between the coal and the rain,
Somewhere between the Earth and the Heavens,
Somewhere in those roots, We found Us.
